January 10th Champagne and French Fries Day

February 01st International Furmint Day

Entering Feburary, celebrate #internationalfurmintday in style and learn more about this white grape from Hungary here. Sainsburys stock a very reasonably priced bottle of Dry Furmint which we have added to our list. Laithwaites also stock a crisp, citrusy bottle at £13.99. This would look very nice stored in our popular 5 bottle holder slate wine racks.


February 05th National Rose Day

Celebrate #nationalroseday with a bottle of the finest rose and learn more about this wine. Rose has become very popular over the years and is often associated with having a glass in the warm summer evenings at a party or an event. Very close to Champagne and Prosecco, Rose is very popular with the new younger generation of party goers.


February 16th International Syrah Day

Celebrate #internationalsyrahday in style with a bottle from Chapel Down Vineyard located in Kent, UK. This dark coloured bottle would work well with the lighter creamy coloured tones of one of our Portland Stone Wine Racks.


February 18th Global Drink Wine Day

A much more generic celebration is #globaldrinkwineday and can be any one of your favourite wines. Whether meeting up friends and enjoying a glass on this special day or at home with a nice meal with the family. Our choice for today would have to be a nice Argentian Malbec from Majestic Wine.


February 25th Open That Bottle Night

Traditionally celebrated on the last Saturday of February, #openthatbottlenight is the perfect night to open that bottle that you have been saving for that special occasion. One that you wanted to savour and enjoy that bit more. With no restrictions on the type of grape or fizz, maybe this is an opportunity to try something new. March 03rd Mulled Wine Day

Normally associated with Christmas Festivities it feels strange celebrating #mulledwineday in March. March 13th International Riesling Day

Originating from Germany there are many variations of this grape now available. #internationalrieslingday is not to be missed with so many award winning wines to choose from. April 14th International Tannat Day

A lovely Red originating from the rough and rugged Pyrenees border between France and Spain. La Vielle Ferme is a great choice at only £7.50 from Sainsburys. April 17th World Malbec Day

One of our favourite wines. A very difficult choice to select just one so have a read of the BBC Good Food website which reviews the top 10 Malbec Wines. Waitrose recommend this Fuzion at £9.99. We would love to have 12SWR20 stacked full of malbec wine.


April 27th World Marselan Day

Learn more about this hybrid grape on the Chilled Magazine website. #worldmarselanday celebrated on the founders birthday with a wide range to choose from. Jeroboams recommend this 2018 bottle priced at a very reasonable £12.95 whilst Wine Trust recommend a slightly more expensive bottle of Bodegas Garzón Reserve Marselan from Uruguay at £17.95 a bottle. April 28th International Viognier Day

The last event of April #internationalviognierday is a celebration of a lesser known white grape more of which can be found out here. May 05th International Sauvignon Blanc Day

Starting the celebrations in May with #internationalsauvignonblancday this very popular wine originates from the Bordeaux region in France. The Wine Society have a lovely choice of approximately 80 x variations of Sauvignon Blanc to choose from. In the UK Denbies Wine Estate based in Dorking, Surrey produce an award winning Sauvignon Blanc that is certainly worth a try. Why not collect yourself with a visit to this stunning vineyard in the Surrey Hills.


May 09th World Moscato Day

A sweet light and bubbly wine usually containing a lower alcohol content. Celebrate #worldmoscatoday in style with an award winning bottle from this blog from Vine Pair. May 17th Pinot Grigio Day

#pinotgrigioday Learn more about this popular wine on the Independent Wine website. One of the best budget wines can be found at Tesco, Caparelli Italian Pinot Grigio at just £4.75, whilst the Black Pig at £10.99 has a great rating. Sourcing a bottle closer to home, Fox and Fox based in West Sussex have won a bucket load of awards for their outstanding wine. There are so many vineyards nestled in this beautiful part of the UK and with the climate changes still in force, this is only going to improve even more and produce higher yields in the future.


May 25th International Chardonnay Day

If you’re looking for a Chardonnay from a Vineyard in the UK then The Great British Vineyards Guide highlights the breadth and depth of Vineayrds across the entire UK. June 10th Durif Day

A lesser know Red Wine #durifday celebrates these grapes from sunnier climates, such as California and Australia. The Boxer Durif 2020 from Laithwaites stands out for us with this very striking label and slightly shorter and wider elegant bottle.


June 16th International Drink Chenin Blanc Day

Originating from the Loire Valley of France, Chenin Blanc varies considerably in terms of acidity. The Tasting House recommend this South African wine at £10.20 and is perfect for pairing with Poultry, Pizza or Pasta dishes.
