A small 4 hole mini slate wine rack measuring 480mm high in the small category on the website.
This is a nice clean example of quality welsh slate. Sawn base, natural edges with a chiseled top in an attempt to try and resemble the rugged mountain line of North Wales, where this slate originates from.
Dark grey in colour with the inside of the cores contrasting nicely with a lighter grey.
Carefully core drilled using diamond tipped drill bits and a water feed to keep the slate cool.
I then retain all the cores and more importantly re use them, splitting them down as coasters. Finishing them with oil and a felted base.
Holes are approximately 90mm in diameter. Smaller beer bottle or larger champagne holes can be drilled upon request.
Therefore the perfect size for storing both a standard size wine bottle and a slightly larger sparkling wine bottle.
A similar style to this mini slate wine rack and a slightly larger version is 5swr42
Even though the edge is natural this could be carved on with names or dates for a wedding, birthday or anniversary.
A recent example of engraving can be seen on 5swr37.

Slate is a great material that maintains a constant temperature and it will chill your wine nicely. It will not expand and contract like other materials.
Please do remember that each piece of slate is different. I cannot guarantee the exact replication of any designs and I would not wish to.
Finally, if you can’t decide which rack to purchase, I would strongly recommend a trip to the workshop where I have over 100 racks in stock.
