Bolney Wine Estate

Bolney Wine Estate is situated in a stunning location in West Sussex just off the A272, North of Brighton. Starting in 1972, this is one of the oldest vineyards in England and with significant development over the years has turned into one of the most exciting and inviting vineyards in Southern England. With very bold, clear signage directing you into the vineyard, the single track lane leads passed the vineyards and then opens up to a modern, impressive, timber clad structure housing a restaurant, gift shop and an extended balcony over looking the lush green vineyards of Bolney Wine Estate.

Even though this was a short unplanned visit, we definitely made the most of it. As it was a lunch time visit and I still had a number of deliveries to complete coffee was the number one priority and a light snack of the most amazing rosemary fries I’ve had in a very long time.

I couldn’t leave empty handed and wanted to come away with a couple of wines to try when I had more time. I was greeted by one of the very experienced sales team who recommended a number of wines to try backed up with in depth understanding and knowledge of the wine making process. I chose a Pinot Gris as I do love a glass of white with a meal and couldn’t resist the Lychgate Red. I particularly like the clean and clear labelling on this bottle and the light grey colour works so well with the grey slate wine racks. Whilst looking through the website I have noticed they also do a wine range of gifts and wish I had seen this Red Wine Gift Box during my visit.

With these new bottles purchased, I was keen to take some updated photos for the website, featuring these fine wines.

The service and experience of my visit was just wonderful. The lovely setting and environment coupled with the warm welcome I received by all members of the team made this a very enjoyable trip and I will be back soon with my wife to enjoy a much longer lunch next time. Location of the Vineyard can be found here. There are many more visitors who have had a memorable visit on Trip Advisor.
