Easter in Pembrokeshire

I’ve just returned to the workshop after a short trip to Pembrokeshire for Easter. We had a great 5 x days down in Pembrokeshire and were lucky enough to catch up with family visiting from Scotland and able fit so much in.

We spent the day in Hetherton Adventure Park with the kids flying off the Zip Wire, Zorbing and generally letting off steam. Then onto Saudersfoot for tea and watching the sun set over the beach. Another little trip down to Little Haven and Broad Haven to let Bella the Boxer run for it across the beach.

I’d managed to hide the bike in the van before loading it up so escaped upto the Preselis one evening to get in a few miles and hills ahead of the Tour of Pembrokeshire in late May. This route took me from Letterston to Little Newcastle, Puncheston and then Tufton before joining the main road and the never ending climb upto New Inn and then over the top before flying down the other side and cornering left onto Cilgwyn. I then took in the beautiful, but still hilly Gwaun Valley before dropping down into Fishguard and a quick pic at Goodwick. Then hacked it back along the A40 to Letterston and back home in time for tea.  Full route can be viewed here https://www.relive.cc/view/943734990

We managed to fit in an Easter Egg Hunt in St Davids before heading down to the Sloop in Porthgain for a superb evening meal. You do need to book a table here as it’s always chocker, no matter what time of year it is.

Then the day before heading home we had a walk along the stunning and in my opinion the best beach in Pembrokeshire. Newgale.

If you’re ever looking to visit the area then check out these lovely cottages very close to the coast and the City of St Davids.
